Fusion Live Recap – Dec. 14, 2018

It was a historic night for Major League Wrestling. For the first time ever, MLW FUSION was broadcast live to a nationwide television audience.

In addition that significant first for MLW, a new World Middleweight Champion was crowned in the Hart Foundation’s Teddy Hart.

Teddy Hart Wins World Middleweight Championship
Hart wasn’t even booked in the match. But in true Teddy Hart fashion, he went ahead and found a way to get in the four-way ladder match. First, he attacked Dezmond Xavier before he could enter the ring.

When Kotto Brazil took exception and went to attack Hart outside the ring, Brazil got the worst of the exchange and was helped to the back. Hijo de LA Park, Gringo Loco and Xavier all had opportunities to grab the belt during the course of the match, which saw ladders and wrestlers alike nearly destroyed.

With the other competitors out of commission, Brazil made his way back out to the ring. But a vicious Hart lungblower on Brazil left nobody to stop him from climbing the ladder to retrieve the gold.

Lawlor Gets His Hands on the Champ
“Filthy” Tom Lawlor has been looking to get his hands on World Heavyweight Champion Low Ki for months. Where better to do just that than on national television.

Low Ki was addressing the crowd and calling Lawlor out a bit. Lawlor was having none of hit, coming through the crowd, hitting the ring and brawling all over the arena with Low Ki.

Rush Defeated Rich Swann
Leader of Los Ingobernables made his American live television debut on MLW FUSION LIVE, facing off with Rich Swann. In an extremely competitive match, Rush came out on top.

Swann had all the momentum and was going for his patented 450 splash. But Rush had it scouted, got the knees up and turned it into a piledriver for the victory.

Following the match, LA Park came to ringside. Rush didn’t appreciate the sinister skeleton’s appearance and took the fight to him. The two had to be pulled apart.

Dragon Lee defeated DJZ
In a battle of high-flying athletic newcomers to MLW, Dragon Lee made his mark in an effort to impress league officials. Both men were impressive, but in the end, Lee scored with a huge knee strike and a modified falcon arrow to pick up the victory.
