Minoru Tanaka (田中稔), the new GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion, enters MLW with an impressive resume including claiming championships in NOAH, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling.

Minoru Tanaka holds the distinction of being the only man to hold all five major junior heavyweight titles in Japan.

Tanaka will be challenged by the maestro of Mexican Strong Style, Daga. An accomplished grappler with extensive experience wrestling in Japan, Daga is an evolving hybrid wrestler with an exceptional background in lucha, MMA and strong style.

“Styles make fights,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “This match is going to be a hard hitting FIGHT. This is the ‘Big Apple Grapple’ of the weekend.”

Tanaka’s experience and versatility may give the shootboxer a unique dimension.  Known for his rapid-fire striking and flying-armbar submission, Tanaka can also fly high with his signature 450º fireball splash.

Daga looks to forever stain Tanaka’s MLW debut with a victory on April 4.  Can Minoru Tanaka overcome a world class grappler hungry to climb the rankings? Will Daga be able to stop the GHC Junior Heavyweight’s momentum?
