Talks between Major League Wrestling and multiple athletes are getting serious.

According to league insiders, the office of wrestling operations are in “deep and serious” contract talks, so much so that the MLW CEO and league founder Court Bauer has cancelled a west coast trip to sign off on the deals in person this week.

League officials wouldn’t confirm how many athletes are involved in the on-going talks but one source pegged it at “four to five.”

Another league insider is under the impression the athletes in question vary from prospects to high profile wrestlers.

“We’ve been working on two deals in particular since January,” said MLW SVP of Wrestling Operations Jared St. Laurent. “We’re at the one yard line. Very, very close.”

With two deals pending completion, MLW.com expects to have more on this story within the next 72 hours.
