Col. Parker gets back into the promoting game

Foot longs will be the theme of the day if Colonel Parker has anything to do with it.

Southern wrestling promoter and manager Colonel Robert Parker will be promoting the 69th annual Labor Day hot dog eating contest in Sumner County, Tennessee, on Old Hickory Lake later today.

Surrounded by a bevy of southern belles and crowing about the competition being hog wild for foot longs, Parker has been itching to promote ever since his barge fighting operation got shutdown by coast guard earlier this year.

As for his next move in MLW, Parker was evasive in commenting on what his plans are now that MLW’s underway with its restart. Parker’s Stud Stable has featured a who’s who over the years and rumors are swirling who could next be inked to a deal with the Tennessean.

Parker has a sterling reputation for presenting some of the sport’s most dominant grapplers. Parker’s family ties in the sport of professional wrestling go back to 1920.
