The MLW National Openweight Championship will be defended this Saturday in a major three-way title fight as Austin Aries puts the gold on the line against Místico and Averno.
Originally, Averno was set to challenge Aries one-on-one for the championship. But after Místico and Aries got into it last week, the title picture widened into something far more dangerous for the champion. Now, Aries must defend against two of Mexico’s greatest in a match where he does not have to be beaten to lose the title.
Aries has the gold, the ego, and the veteran instincts to survive almost any kind of match. But there is one number he cannot ignore: he has never beaten Místico. The champion may be brilliant and cunning, but retaining against both Místico and Averno may require one of the smartest performances of his career.
Místico enters with the chance to bring championship gold back to Mexico and add another unforgettable chapter to his MLW journey. Averno, meanwhile, is looking to make a huge first impression and prove that he did not come to MLW simply to compete. He came to conquer.
