Following his big win at MLW: One-Shot over Olympian Jeff Cobb, “Filthy” Tom Lawlor had a post match interview where he made several controversial comments. The most noteworthy being when he called out one of the most popular wrestlers today: former UFC welterweight Matt Riddle.
With many parallels between the “King of Bros” and “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, this is a much anticipated match-up. Could we see it in MLW in 2017? Well, it didn’t take long for Riddle to chime in on Twitter:
I hear @FilthyTomLawlor called the Bro out at @MLW one shot, Orlando sounds nice see you Dec 7th #bro #splx #kingofbros #Stallion pic.twitter.com/q1kHr8EoWO

Since this tweet, MLW.com can confirm MLW officials have been in talks with Riddle’s team over the past few days.
“Matt is a phenomenal fighter and Lawlor is coming up fast and strong. Fans want this match and so do I. Hell, so do Matt and Tom. All I can say right this moment is… stay tuned,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer.
Riddle, who transitioned from the Octagon to the squared circle in 2014, has been a wrestling revelation, competing around the world in some of the most exciting and hard hitting encounters in either sport.
More details as they become available.
