Matt Riddle in talks with MLW

Screen Shot 2017-10-10 at 3.27.29 PMFollowing his big win at MLW: One-Shot over Olympian Jeff Cobb, “Filthy” Tom Lawlor had a post match interview where he made several controversial comments.  The most noteworthy being when he called out one of the most popular wrestlers today: former UFC welterweight Matt Riddle.

With many parallels between the “King of Bros” and “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, this is a much anticipated match-up.  Could we see it in MLW in 2017? Well, it didn’t take long for Riddle to chime in on Twitter:

 

Since this tweet, MLW.com can confirm MLW officials have been in talks with Riddle’s team over the past few days.

“Matt is a phenomenal fighter and Lawlor is coming up fast and strong.  Fans want this match and so do I.  Hell, so do Matt and Tom. All I can say right this moment is… stay tuned,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer.

Riddle, who transitioned from the Octagon to the squared circle in 2014, has been a wrestling revelation, competing around the world in some of the most exciting and hard hitting encounters in either sport.
