In a moment no one could’ve predicted, southern wrestling promoter and manager Colonel Robert Parker returned to the sport last night at MLW: Road to the World Championship.
Along with his newly signed tag team the Dirty Blondes, the trio crashed a match featuring Team TBD (Jimmy Yuta & Jason Cade) and Simon Gotch and Seth Petruzelli sending shockwaves throughout the tag team division.
Parker, whose family goes back to 1920 in the sport, confirmed he and his Stud Stable featuring the Dirty Blondes want in on competing for the rumored World Tag Team Championship.
League officials have confirmed to MLW.com that they are actively exploring establishing the belts in the near future.
Colonel Parker, who league officials have confirmed has acquired a license to manage in MLW, joins a trend of managers and promoters representing athletes in the MLW. Stokely Hathaway of Black Friday Management and Salina de la Renta of Promociones Dorado also represent various wrestlers.
Having managed the likes of Steve Austin, Big Van Vader and the Harlem Heat as well as promoting wrestling throughout the south, Colonel Robert Parker has a stellar track record for success in the sport. The question is: who else is he planning on signing to his Stud Stable? We’ll just have to wait and see.
