The hard drive containing CCTV footage linking Ricky Martinez to a nightclub altercation with Kotto Brazil reportedly has been damaged. A source has informed MLW.com that the footage is unlikely to be recovered.
Authorities have declined to make a statement, however, sources believe the evidence was intentionally damaged and subsequently “compromised”.
“If there is no evidence then I don’t see why this is even a thing,” said Promociones Dorado empresaria Salina de la Renta. “Ricky is innocent and the league needs to back off with their pressure and sanctions. The man shouldn’t be fined, suspended or banned. This whole thing is foolish. A witch hunt probably triggered by Kotto Brazil to get people talking about him. Where’s the proof little man even had surgery? Please.”
MLW released a statement before going to print:
“The league finds the situation surrounding the evidence being damaged to be suspicious. The league will continue pursuing Mr. Martinez’s alleged involvement in the situation. We are taking this altercation very seriously.”
2 weeks ago MLW.com revealed that shocking CCTV footage shows Ricky Martinez as the perpetrator in an attack on Brazil at a Miami Nightclub. Sources claim the footage shows Martinez bump into Brazil. The two then exchange words before Martinez smashes a champagne flute glass in the orbital area of Kotto Brazil.
Footage also allegedly shows Martinez punching Brazil in the head on the dance floor several times. Martinez then fled the scene before police arrived.
Brazil was rushed to a local area hospital where he underwent extensive eye surgery. Brazil has undergone multiple procedures with 1-2 additional operations likely as doctors look to save his eye.
Brazil suffered extensive damage to his eye including the retina, optic disc and conjuntiva area. The belief is that the glassware exploded upon impact creating debris that got impacted in and around the eye.
As Martinez attempted to leave the nightclub, security tried to detain Martinez until authorities arrived. Unfortunately once again turned violent with Martinez allegedly injuring two men. We can confirm one of the security guards seen in the footage was treated at a nearby hospital. The 23-year-old is said to have fractured his skull, while a 20-year-old received scrapes to the head and face.
MLW’s medical team is in contact with Brazil’s doctors. It remains unclear if Brazil will need to have enucleation (a procedure where the eye is removed).
