Top ranked middleweight Rich Swann has been fined $3,000 and suspended for punching a referee and shoving broadcaster Rich Bocchini following his match on MLW FUSION this past Saturday.
Swann said he meant to hit the referee in the chest to “get some space”. The blow broke the official’s jaw and dislodged three of his teeth.
The suspension handed down by the league’s wrestling operations office.
Swann, who has been distinguishing himself as a top ranked middleweight, has told MLW.com that he intends to appeal the suspension and fine.
