CONTRA Unit hit with fines and controversial suspension

Following the attack on Air Wolf and disruption at recent events, MLW has fined and suspended CONTRA Unit.

The term of the suspension was originally set at 2 months but has been reduced to 14 days (all already served) after Fatu threatened to cancel several marquee title fights in the planning stages for 2020.

“TWO weeks? That’s it?! They put Air Wolf down for good, nearly take out Pillman and only get TWO WEEKS? If you don’t take a stand against these (expletive) they’re going to continue to do what they’ve been doing,” said an anonymous wrestler. “CONTRA talks about infiltrating the league. Maybe they’ve done that at the executive level!”

Senior league officials scoffed at the anonymous wrestler’s speculation about CONTRA infiltrating the front office.

Why hasn’t MLW stripped Fatu of the belt for CONTRA’s heinous actions?

MLW is resistant to vacating championships.

The league has made it a priority to maintain the integrity of the lineage of each belt – a position CONTRA Unit has used to their advantage to manifest power and manipulate the league.

The league debated the consequences of rolling back the suspension to just two weeks but felt it had to meet CONTRA’s demands or risk jeopardizing key title bouts.  A league source confirmed they acquiesced under extreme protest.

All members of CONTA Unit were fined $7500 each.
