No longer the self-proclaimed champion, Richard Holliday has been formally recognized as the Caribbean Heavyweight Champion by IWA Puerto Rico, the title’s home promotion.
“I have been vindicated by my own incredible performance,” stated Richard Holliday in a post fight media scrum. “No thanks to the ugly side of politics amongst friendly promotions, such as MLW and the IWA. As your certified Caribbean Champion I promise to be a role model to all of the consumerniños out there and upgrade the image of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands. This one is dedicated to me!”
While formally recognized and certified as the Caribbean Champion by IWA Puerto Rico, MLW’s Court Bauer isn’t exactly on the same page.
“That referee was horrible, like the worst I’ve ever seen,” said Bauer. “It’s IWA’s call if they want to go ahead and acknowledge him as champ but there is no way he is the undisputed champion in my eyes.”
