Major League Wrestling (MLW) today announced that Austin Aries will represent MLW in the prestigious CMLL Grand Prix Internacional 2026, taking place Friday, August 7 at the legendary Arena México in Mexico City.
One of CMLL’s premier annual events, the Grand Prix Internacional pits Team Mexico against an international squad comprised of elite competitors from around the world. Since its inception in 1994, the tournament has become one of the most celebrated traditions in lucha libre, showcasing world-class talent and the global reach of professional wrestling.
Aries has been selected as MLW’s representative on Team International, joining a field that will feature competitors from leading promotions across the globe, including New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
A decorated veteran known for his technical precision, intensity, and championship pedigree, Aries will look to bring Grand Prix glory back to MLW while competing on one of wrestling’s most iconic stages.

The first members announced for Team Mexico include Volador Jr., Titán, and Xelhua, with additional participants from both teams expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
The announcement further underscores the growing relationship between MLW and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), which has brought some of the world’s top competitors to MLW events while creating new opportunities for MLW athletes to compete internationally.
The Grand Prix Internacional will take place Friday, August 7, live from Arena México in Mexico City.
