Andrew Everett faces a dangerous first step toward the 2026 Opera Cup when he meets CONTRA Unit’s Ikuro Kwon on MLW FUSION this Thursday at 8 PM ET, streaming free on Tubi. The opening-round matchup pits Everett’s aerial offense against a striker capable of punishing the slightest opening.
Kwon brings speed, sharp strikes and the ruthless approach associated with CONTRA’s black flag. For him, the tournament offers more than individual advancement; it is another opportunity to spread CONTRA’s crusade through MLW… and possibly melt the Opera Cup down into a saber for Josef Samael.
Everett has the experience and explosiveness to make that mission difficult. His ability to attack from above forces opponents to account for more than what is directly in front of them, but creating those opportunities against Kwon will require precise timing.
Can Everett establish his rhythm before Kwon cuts him off, or will CONTRA’s striker turn an attempted aerial attack into the mistake that decides the match? With elimination waiting for the loser, neither competitor can afford to let an opening go unanswered.
