Update on Kevin Sullivan

MLW.com

Kevin Sullivan spent 40 years in the sport in some of the most violent altercations in the history of pro wrestling. However, nothing could have prepared him for the vicious attack he suffered last week.

Last Friday night on MLW FUSION, Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith Jr. were involved in an altercation with Kevin Sullivan.  As things escalated, Brian Pillman, the protege of Sullivan and friends of the Hart Foundation, found himself stuck in the middle.  Quickly things spiraled out of control with the Hart Foundation bludgeoning Sullivan and in that moment Pillman made a shocking decision: he sided with his new friends and betrayed his mentor and surrogate uncle.

Moments after the altercation, police were summoned to the building where several police surrounded the location.  The Hart Foundation quickly fled the scene while Sullivan received medical treatment.  Sources have confirmed Sullivan refused to press charges.  However, league officials have fined all three members of the Hart Foundation an undisclosed amount and are considering some form of a suspension.

Since the attack, Sullivan has refused to comment on protege Pillman’s actions.  What’s next for Sullivan?  We understand a slow recovery.  The league’s chief physician Dr. Sweglar confirmed that Sullivan, the former WCW matchmaker and hall of fame brawler, suffered several contusions, a concussion, several lacerations and a bruised hip after a nasty fall during the attack.

What’s next for the Hart Foundation is anyone’s guess but chaos and controversy is likely to continue following the trio of Hart, Smith and Pillman.
