Low Ki, Lawlor Set For Battle

Saturday’s World Championship match between Low Ki and “Filthy” Tom Lawlor on MLW FUSION LIVE presented by GoDaddy has been in the making for quite some time.

Lawlor battled through 39 other men at Battle Riot back in July to win an opportunity at the World Heavyweight Champion any time he wanted. Seemingly from the moment Lawlor tossed Jake Hager from the ring, Low Ki and Salina de la Renta started devising plans to avoid, take out or distract Lawlor.

None of those plans have worked. Click here to see a full timeline of events for Lawlor and Low Ki since July.

With their matchup less than a week away, it seems as though the World Champion is finally coming to the realization that all the distraction techniques, mercenary attacks and even coercing one of Lawlor’s best friends to turn on him isn’t going to keep him from facing the leader of “Team Filthy” Saturday in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Lawlor made it very clear two weeks ago on MLW FUSION that he is completely focused on becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion.

“I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. I’ve been thinking about the past seven months it’s taken me to get this very point,” Lawlor said. “Mr. Professional – Low Ki. You’re talking about being undefeated in MLW. But when I take a look at your record over the past 15 years – and especially over the past seven months, what do I see?

“I don’t actually see a guy who’s getting the job done. I don’t see a guy who’s putting in the work,” Lawlor continued. “I see soembody who’s out-sourcing it to other people, who’s paying people off to do the dirty jobs, whether it’s my friend Simon Gotch, who you paid off, that treasure troll Sami Callihan, little Ricky (Martinez), the fat skeleton, the skinny skeleton, Salina the teenage witch … it doesn’t matter, Low Ki. All those people are going to be out of the way at MLW SuperFight. And Mr. Professional is going to be out of a job after 15 years. How’s it going to feel, Low Ki, when all that goes to waste in six seconds as you go to sleep?”

Now, Low Ki decided to attempt one last tactic to keep Lawlor off balance heading into MLW SuperFight, Saturday at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. Low Ki is now trying to play mind games with his challenger.

“Bravo, sir, bravo … well done,” said the champion in a video that aired on last week’s episode of MLW FUSION. “You’ve had ups and downs on a long and arduous road, surviving 39 other men in Battle Riot, becoming the No. 1 contender and even overcoming my associates. What people fair to realize is I’ve been a part of your journey quite longer than they may think.

“Had you ever disclosed why there was a huge chunk of your finances missing from that joint account of yours with that beautiful wife that you had?” Low Ki continued, clearly trying to get Lawlor emotionally riled up. “How about … why daddy was unable to play with his two beautiful children because he had his wrist shattered? Oh, that’s right, because you’re too busy mocking me and my level of professionalism here in Major League Wrestling.”

Low Ki finished his lengthy address of Lawlor with the promise to “take things to … an extreme.” See the full video of that address below.
