It’s a yearly tradition to have Fusion on Thanksgiving and 2023 is no different, but now there’s the fallout from Fightland! Alex Kane retained his World Title gold against Jacob Fatu in a 45-minute slugfest, but everything went completely haywire when WTF ambushed both and we saw the return of Alex Hammerstone.
We see Hammerstone and he said that the rumors of his displeasure were true and that CEO Court Bauer wouldn’t return his calls, but guess who did? Mister Saint Laurent. Now fans will have to wait and see his next move as a roster member of WTF!
We now look ahead to OneShot on December 7 in NYC, but tonight we see TJ Crawford with a sign imploring to “Free Deppen.”
MATCH 1
TJ Crawford vs. Nolo Kitano
Crawford attacks Nolo as he’s setting down his sword. Kitano turns the tide with a hurricanrana and then a crisp dropkick, but all of a sudden a man in a mask comes out on the entry way. Kitano looks, turns around and takes a high knee!
Crawford taunts, but Nolo fights on. Crawford nails Nolo with a knee to the face as Kitano was hanging over the ropes.
Kitano shows some resiliency and nails a shotgun dropkick, double knees, a modified backbreaker, and then a spinning kick! As Crawford hangs onto the bottom rope, in slides Griffin McCoy and catches Nolo with a half-and-half. TJ hits his Silver Bullet finisher for the 1-2-3!
WINNER: TJ Crawford
Post-match, the masked man (has to be Tony Deppen) comes out to celebrate with Crawford and McCoy.
We see Mascara Dorada after his tag team win at Fightland. He issues a challenge to Rocky Romero at OneShot for the World Middleweight Title!
We see MSL who is hyping up the takeover of WTF and that’s all going to happen when Matt Cardona becomes the MLW World Champion against Alex Kane at OneShot. Tonight he can’t wait for Cardona and Lawlor to take out BOMAYE Fight Club.
Backstage we see Salina de la Renta and Promociones Dorado ganging up on Ichiban. He’s being held up as Salina gives him a slap and makes clear she warned him about interrupting her.
The feed cuts and it’s Rickey Shane Page relishing in his attack of Akira at Fightland. He laughs and says “the hammer’s about to drop.”
MATCH 2
Notorious Mimi vs. Tiara James
Mimi first gets the advantage but Tiara takes her off her game with a hip toss and then a second turnbuckle dropkick for two.
Mimi soon manages to ring the arm of James over the rope. Back in the ring, she continues to work over the arm before attacking James in the corner.
Mimi makes a big mistake by missing a cross-body off top and James uses her good arm for several lariats. She soon gets a near fall on Mimi. James twists Mimi in a neckbreaker position before spinning it into a facebuster for a 1-2-3!
WINNER: Tiara James
Post-match, Leterna catches up with James. Tiara says that it’s been a breakout year and she asks how a title shot sound?
We look back at the “connection” between Love, Doug and B3CCA. Doug just got an invite to B3CCA’s Thanksgiving Tryst and we got a look at it tonight.
A freelance journalist catches up with MSL in the parking lot, asking about the status of Hammerstone. Did MSL tamper with his contract? The WTF promoter denies such claims and said Hammer’s contract expired. He had nothing to do with such, WTF is in acquisition mode as the company grows bigger and badder than ever.
After a commercial break, we see MSL in full “acquisition mode” and he literally offers 1 Called Manders a “hot dog and a handshake” before the potential of joining WTF. Manders doesn’t seem all too enthused, but doesn’t say no either.
Rocky Romero and Salina are seen together and Romero says he’s gonna handle Dorada like they did with Ichiban earlier tonight.
Alex Kane is being interviewed by Sam Leterna and Kane makes clear he’s going to put Matt Cardona in his place at MLW OneShot.
We see Love, Doug all ready for his Thanksgiving Tryst with B3CCA. As he enters the room, however, B3CCA is not there, but it’s Brett Ryan Gosslin. He says he’s B3CCA’s boyfriend and takes him out violently with a crowbar! This was all a trap!
Mance Warner was trapped at Fightland as his girlfriend, Steph Delander, stabbed him in the back “for the business” of WTF and now Warner has to leave MLW. Manders is upset about it and Warner tells him to calm down. He’s drinking his last beer in MLW. Mancer says SGC built this place up. Warner says Manders and Justice have the gold now. He was looking forward to Freebird Rules, but it ain’t gonna happen. However, he knows a guy: Masked Good Brother #3, boy loves to drink. Warner hugs Manders and says he ain’t gonna cry. He signed up for it. Now he’s gotta deal with it. He’s gone.
Out comes MSL to introduce his WTF tag team for the main event.
MAIN EVENT
WTF (Tom Lawlor & Matt Cardona) vs. BOMAYE FIght Club (Alex Kane & Mr. Thomas)
Kane and Cardona start things off, that is until Cardona tags in Lawlor. Kane powers Lawlor off a collar and elbow, but Tom gets filthy pulling the hair of Kane. Kane however delivers stiff elbows to Lawlor, but Lawlor has a cravat cinched, giving Kane some knees.
When Kane gets shoved into a corner, Cardona kicks him in the back. When Cardona becomes the legal man, they stomp away at the champ.
Kane gets a double leg takedown and then begins delivering German suplexes, two to Cardona and one to Lawlor. Kane then hits a stand and release suplex on Matt.
Kane unfortunately hurt himself during those suplexes and the officials run down to check on him. Mr. Thomas gets attacked from behind, but he’s not happy and fends both men off as much as he can as Kane gets taken to the back.
Back from break, Lawlor is enjoying the isolation of Thomas as he takes off his first pair of daisy dukes. Thomas is favoring his knee as Cardona charges in with some strikes. The numbers game is just too much as Thomas is being held for some jabs by Lawlor.
Cardona hits a DDT for a near fall. Both Lawlor and Cardona go for a double suplex, but THomas suplexes them both and out comes Kane again! He’s all bandaged up but that doesn’t slow him down. He suplexes Lawlor and does the same to Cardona. The pain is too much. While the ref is looking at the action in the ring. Lawlor strikes Kane with a chair to his taped back. Cardona hits the Radio Silence on Thomas and it’s all over.
WINNERS: Tom Lawlor & Matt Cardona
Kane is taken to the back as WTF celebrates the big win and Cardona looks forward to fighting an injured champion at OneShot in two weeks time!
