MLW gets even more ready for a fight this week as the league introduces Pit Fighters to the raucous Atlanta crowd at Center Stage and out come the intense new group of the Rogue Horsemen. A sharply dressed Brett Ryan Gosselin gets on the mic and begins to namedrop legendary names, including Brock Anderson’s father Arn. However, he says times are different and fans latch onto people like the Bomaye Fight Club. We’re getting ready to see Bobby Fish in action against a debuting Kevin Knight!
MATCH 1
Bobby Fish vs. Kevin Knight
Bobby Fish is all about the striking and kick game but he’s never had to deal with “Kevin Knight movement” who shows his immense athleticism in this opening bout. He directs his attention to the Andersons on the outside and connects with a plancha. Knight then attempts a springboard frog splash to Bobby but he moves to connect with a harsh elbow strike and the 1-2-3.
WINNER: Bobby Fish
Post-match, Bobby sends the Andersons on the attack and they oblige as they aim to pick apart Knight. Thankfully, out comes Alex Kane and Mr. Thomas! The RH bail and Kane gets on the mic to called BRG Ellen DeGeneres before he offers Kevin Knight a spot in the Bomaye Fight Club! Knight accepts and he’s got some big back-up moving forward!
We see Tom Lawlor and MSL. MSL aims to recoup some money and so does Filthy Tom. He claims he’s working hard at the gym and plans to go back to his roots in the fight game against Matt Riddle.
We then see AKIRA ready for his Taipei taped fist fight against Ikuro Kwon as he’s seen dipping his taped hands in shredded glass.
MATCH 2
MLW World Featherweight Championship
Taekwondo Rules
Delmi Exo vs. Janai Kai
The deck feels stacked against Delmi in several ways. First off, she’s dealing with a recently dislocated shoulder and secondly Taekwondo favors the Kick Demon greatly. This is proven in this hard-hitting battle as Delmi gets some strikes in, but so does Kai. She does make a heavy focus on Exo’s arm and shoulder, hitting constant kicks to the limb. She ultimately gets Exo grounded and continues the shoulder assault which causes the official to stop the fight!
WINNER and STILL World Featherweight Champion: Janai Kai
We next get an in-depth look at Mistico’s unprecedented journey in MLW so far, particularly his recent winning of the Opera Cup!
After getting his face badly burned with a fireball by Mads Krugger, we get the good word that World Champion Satoshi Kojima is cleared for action!
MATCH 3
Barrio Brawl
Jesus Rodriguez vs. Matthew Justice (with Bill Alfonso)
Zero time is wasted in this fight as Justice doesn’t even let Rodriguez introduce himself. The fight is on and it’s a chance for Jesus to prove he’s got some fighting skills. The veteran sure does, but it’s hard to hang with the wild Justice who is sitting under the extreme learning tree of Fonzie. Fonzie is a thorn in Rodriguez’s side for sure and he gives the legendary manager a shove, but certainly regrets it. Tables, doors and bodies are broken in this fight and specifically Rodriguez, who gets put through a door in the corner courtesy of a running DVD! Justice gets the win!
WINNER: Matthew Justice
Justice is ready to celebrate with Fonzie, but takes a massive chair shot from Bad Dude Tito. The Openweight Champ then grabs hold of Justice and hits a devastating screwdriver onto an open steel chair!
MATCH 4
BJJ vs. Boxer
Randall Royce vs. Danny Stratos
We’ve got a “styles make fights” fight up next as Golden Gloves fighter Danny Stratos battles BJJ black belt Randall Royce. However, this fight was not meant to be as before the two can duke it out, The Disruptor Donovan Dijak destroys them both!
NO CONTEST
Dijak continues his assault and mocks both “pit fighters” as “b**** fighters” after punching out Stratos and choking out Royce!
We see footage from Fightland of JBL walking out of Center Stage as a camera man tries to get a word in but Layfield hs none for him.
We hear from Paul Walter Hauser who is busy in Hollywood filming his next big project, but notes that he is keeping eyes on MLW and calls a few names out, including John Layfield. PWH warns JBL that he’s got eyes on the wrestling legend. Hauser plans to make his MLW this year in Chicago!
MATCH 5
Atlanta Street Fight
BRG vs. Alex Kane
BRG had some words for the crowd before the fight started, but his focus should have been on Kane, who gladly took his recent rival to Suplex Island. Weapons are greatly used as Kane peppers BRG with cookie sheets and a trash can! BRG shows his toughness too, being a former hockey player, but Kane has his number in this one. Kane delivers a picture perfect fisherman’s suplex and gets the pinfall win!
WINNER: Alex Kane
Post fight, The Horsemen attack Kane before the rest of the Bomaye Fight Club can make the save!
It’s official: on October 4 at Slaughterhouse Matthew Justice will challenge Bad Dude Tito for his Openweight Championship!
MATCH 6
Taipei Taped Fist Death Match
AKIRA vs. Ikuro Kwon
As expected, this fight is very violent, brutal and bloody. It’s not long at all before the crimson creeps out. It becomes a factor for AKIRA, but the Death Fighter hits a brutal powerbomb to stun Kwon for a near fall. However, Ikuro fights further only to get stabbed with a fork and put in a crossface!! Kwon pulls the fork out of his chest and manages to shove some glass in the face of AKIRA. This is absolute violence going down and the tide totally turns when Ikuro mists AKIRA in the eyes to hit a running kick and gets the pinfall.
WINNER: Ikuro Kwon
It’s main event time. As Matt Riddle readies to face Tom Lawlor in vale tudo rules fight, we have a special guest judge in Ernest “The Cat” Miller!
MAIN EVENT
Vale-Tudo Rules
Tom Lawlor (with MSL) vs. Matt Riddle
These two experienced MMA experts feel one another out but it’s not long before the striking, the ground game and the suplexes go down. Lawlor gets lacerated at some point in the fight, and Riddle hits a Brostone to down both fighters. Strikes are exchanged before the two trade massive German suplexes. Riddle connects with some big time knees before striking away at Lawlor and the match is over!
WINNER: Matt Riddle
Riddle is elated and celebrates with Miller on the outside, but the tone is quite different in the ring. MSL is not pleased with Lawlor, stating that he cost him a lot of money and has covered for him so many times. He actually FIRES Tom Lawlor! Lawlor isn’t happy and grabs hold of MSL, but out comes Dijak who strikes Lawlor down before hitting his burning hammer GTS! This all had to be part of a plan on MSL’s account as he found a new bread winner in Dijak!
