The fallout from Kross/Riddle II is far from over.
At MLW FUSION 200, MLW cameras captured a tense backstage confrontation between MLW World Heavyweight Champion Killer Kross and top contender Matt Riddle, two former training partners whose rivalry continues to grow more volatile by the week.
Kross appeared willing to keep things civil. Riddle had other ideas.
Riddle wasted little time provoking the champion, reminding Kross that he nearly choked the life out of him and claiming he would already be MLW World Heavyweight Champion if not for Alex Hammerstone.
Then Riddle turned his attention to Hammerstone.
The “Rude Dude” declared he is “10 times the fighter, 10 times the athlete, and 10 times the champion” Hammerstone could ever be. Riddle made it clear that Hammerstone is only the next obstacle in front of him… and once he drops the former world champion, he is coming straight for Kross and the MLW World Heavyweight Championship.
The confrontation nearly turned physical.
Kross, pushed to the edge by Riddle’s words, threatened to hit his former training partner right then and there. Thankfully, Scarlett stepped in and calmed the champion down before the situation erupted backstage.
But the night was not over for Riddle.
Later on FUSION 200, Hammerstone and Riddle would exchange words following Hammerstone’s match, with the two heavy hitters throwing verbal bombs at each other and raising the temperature on an already combustible contender’s picture.
Kross is champion. Riddle is hunting him. Hammerstone is standing in the way.
And after FUSION 200, it feels less like a question of if this powder keg explodes and more like who gets knocked out when it does.
