Update on Marshall Von Erich

The rise of CONTRA this summer has sent shockwaves through the sport. From seizing the World Heavyweight Championship to a sinister surprise attack last week on the Von Erichs in New York that resulted in Marshall Von Erich being rushed to the hospital.

CONTRA vowed soldiers were rising up around the world. The unknown assailant that emerged during the Von Erichs-CONTRA fracas and sprayed a foreign substance into the eyes of Marshall appears to be the latest soldier to join CONTRA’s cause in MLW.

Who is this mysterious man? That remains unclear.

What we do know is that the red mist is fairly toxic.  The unknown substance burned Marshall’s eyes to the point that blood and other fluid was secreting from both of his eyes.

Ross accompanied his brother in the ambulance to New York-Presbyterian Hospital where Marshall remains under supervision at the Department of Ophthalmology at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Sources expected Marshall to be moved to the Edward Harkness Eye Institute.

The attack couldn’t come at a worse time with Marshall’s wife expecting a child any day.

“The Von Erich family thanks everyone for their support, prayers and kind words as we get through this… and we will get through this,” said Ross Von Erich.

“Marshall is receiving expert eye care,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “We’re making sure Marshall has the best doctors, surgeons, and nurses. I know the family wants to get him home to Hawaii and we’re working on making those arrangements now.”

Sources close to the Von Erichs compare the eye damage to that of a chemical burn with the membrane on the eyes damaged.

There is no word on how this will impact the War Chamber match featuring CONTRA vs. Tom Lawlor, the Von Erichs and a TBA fourth partner but one thing is clear: CONTRA has secured the fourth man for their team.
