Senior referee Frank Gastineau is in intensive care at Mount Sinai Hospital.

The long-standing senior official burned his face after Josef Samael lit an improvised object in his face in the main event of Saturday Night SuperFight.

League officials along with paramedics quickly transported Gastineau to the back where he was promptly loaded into the ambulance and rushed to the hospital.

Dr. Sweglar, the league’s chief physician, believes Gastineau may have second-and third-degree burns to the face. Dr. Sweglar says Gastineau has been “stabilized” and could soon be transported to Loyola Medicine’s Burn Center.

Severe sanctions by the league against CONTRA Unit are expected.
