The spotlight of the night will be on the MLW World Heavyweight Title fight, featuring Kojima’s first title defense against the feared and respected Minoru Suzuki.

Fresh off his triumphant victory over Alex Kane this past Saturday in Philadelphia, Kojima made history by becoming the first-ever two-time MLW World Heavyweight Champion. The victory marks Kojima’s return to the pinnacle of MLW, solidifying his status as one of the promotion’s most popular and iconic fighters.

Kojima’s journey to this title defense has been nothing short of spectacular. Fans around the world witnessed the impromptu “Bread Club Party” in December, where a capacity crowd tossed bread into the ring to celebrate Kojima’s triumphant return to MLW. This charismatic fighter, crowned as the first-ever MLW World Heavyweight Champion in September 2002, has captured the hearts of fans with his unique style and undeniable fighting spirit.

In a move to honor the city that launched “Kojimania” in 2002, Kojima expressed his desire to give New York City the privilege of hosting his first title defense. This event promises to be a historic night, honoring Kojima and MLW’s roots that forever cemented MLW as a world-class organization.

However, Kojima’s first title defense is no walk in the park. Standing in his way is the formidable Minoru Suzuki, a crippler known for his feared and respected prowess in the ring. The clash between Kojima and Suzuki is expected to be a hard-hitting strong style showdown, showcasing the skills of two of Japan’s most celebrated fighters.

This match is not just a spectacle for the New York City audience; it’s a global affair that has captured the attention of fans from Japan to America and all points in-between. The question on everyone’s mind is whether Kojima’s fighting spirit will prevail, or will Suzuki’s renowned toughness prove insurmountable?

The “King of Pro-Wrestling”, Minoru Suzuki is a name that strikes respect and fear deep in the heart of competitors and fans alike.

After initially training in the NJPW Dojo, Suzuki joined the UWF group in 1989, before becoming one of the founding fathers of Japanese MMA. Returning to pro-wrestling in 2003, Suzuki picked up gold wherever he went, including IWGP Tag Team, NEVER Openweight, and IWGP Intercontinental gold in NJPW.

With over 30 years of career expereince, Suzuki shows no signs of slowing down, and seems to only get more terrifying with every year that goes by.

MLW can confirm a LIMITED meet & greet will also take place prior to the start of the show featuring Minoru Suzuki. You can pre-order at http://www.MLWVIP.com.

Lock in your tickets now at http://www.MLWNYC.com and see it go down Thursday, February 29 in New York City.
