Who Is the Future of MLW?

While Low Ki is the World Heavyweight Champion, there are two men who believe they should be the top dogs in Major League Wrestling. And this duo will be battling it out Friday on MLW: FUSION.

ShaneShane “Swerve” Strickland faces off with “Filthy” Tom Lawlor Friday night on MLW: FUSION on beIN SPORTS USA.

Lawlor has been red hot throughout the spring andLawlorBattleRiot summer. The leader of Team Filthy has to have great feelings about the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, site of Fury Road. Earlier this year, he outlasted 39 other men in the Battle Riot match in that very building. That victory earned him an opportunity at the World Championship whenever he wants it. He’s also been the No. 1-ranked grappler in the MLW Heavyweight Top 10 for some time now.

Here what “Filthy” Tom had to say about this matchup during his training by playing the video below:

Meanwhile, Strickland was the first World Champion in the new run of MLW, the Fusion era if you will. There have been rumors circulating around League officials that Strickland may be in line for a rematch.

So, who is the future of Major League Wrestling, the ace? Strickland was viewed as the golden boy following his World Championship victory until he ran into Salina de la Renta and Low Ki. But Lawlor is easily the hottest thing in MLW today, recently defeating Jake Hager and claiming victory in a months-long feud between Team Filthy and the Stud Stable.

The winner of this matchup may just be the franchise player for Major League Wrestling in the future. That’s how important this match is. It must be assumed that Low Ki and Salina will be watching very intently as they try to hang on to the richest prize in MLW. And Low Ki knows at least one – if not both – of these men will be gunning for him as soon as the bell rings to end this epic matchup.

Don’t miss this battle that could be for nothing less than the very future direction of MLW. Friday on MLW: FUSION.
