“FILTHY” TOM LAWLOR TO FIGHT SIMON GOTCH IN A NO ROPES, NO HOLDS BARRED BOUT AT MLW’S MIAMI DECEMBER 13TH TV TAPING
Before it was an organized sport Mixed Martial Arts was known as No Holds Barred (NHB) fighting. Battling in underground environments with no ropes, no gloves, no rounds and with no rules, NHB was a savage and violent form of combat sports.
A violent betrayal now calls for it return.
Major League Wrestling today announced the first-ever no ropes, no holds barred fight in the history of the league. On Thursday night December 13th at Never Say Never “Filthy” Tom Lawlor vs. Simon Gotch No Ropes, No Holds Barred bout will take place at the Miami Scottish Rite Temple. Both December 13 & 14th cards are FUSION TV tapings for beIN SPORTS.

The first-ever No Ropes, No Holds Barred fight in MLW harkens back to the origins of MMA where fighters would fight in special challenges before large crowds in Brazil or stateside in underground locations. Similar to the original NHB fights, the only way to win this NHB bout is by KO or submission. There are no gloves, no rounds, no ropes and no rules.
The December 13th NHB bout was signed following the shocking betrayal of “Filthy” Tom Lawlor by his Team Filthy teammate Simon Gotch on last week’s FUSION seen nationwide on beIN SPORTS (watch).
Going into Lawlor’s Chicago Street Fight, Gotch had promised Lawlor he had made arrangements for something special if Gotch could defeat Sami Callihan. After the match, a triumphant Lawlor returned to the backstage area where he was greeted by Gotch. Gotch ushered Lawlor through the bowels of Cicero Stadium touting a big press conference. Upon shoving Tom into the “press room” it was revealed to be a trap as Promociones Dorado was waiting for him – all of them. Gotch quickly pulled the cameraman out of the room, slammed a reinforced solid steel door and deviously smiled as viewers heard Low Ki, LA Park, Ricky Martinez and Hijo de LA Park brutalize Lawlor.
Now both men are on a collision course on Thursday night December 13th in Miami. Who is truly the ultimate fighter? Can Gotch derail Lawlor’s pursuit of Low Ki’s World Championship before MLW SUPERFIGHT? Will Gotch prove he was the true master of Team Filthy? Or will Tom Lawlor deny Gotch and make him tapout or worse?
