Since October when National Openweight Champion Alex Hammerstone ignited the locker room to take back Major League Wrestling from CONTRA’s grip, the world has been waiting Hammer vs. Fatu.
The most anticipated championship bout in league history has been on the minds of many. With both World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu and Alex Hammerstone’s nearly identical two year reigns on top putting them on an undeniable collision course, fans and the media have demanded answers as to why the fight has yet to be signed – especially with Fatu coming off of an impressive win last night against the rampaging rookie Calvin Tankman.
The Founder and CEO of Major League Wrestling has chimed in with more insight on the situation:
It's in the mix. @JosefSamael managed to get veto power on Fatu title fights with their last contract. So, we're doing what we can to make that match but CONTRA needs to sign off. https://t.co/gTLmfn7kRS

With Josef Samael’s contractual power enabling him to deny title fights, how will arguably the biggest dream match in league history ever come to fruition? MLW.com reached out to Bauer for comment: “Is there a loophole? I don’t know but our team is looking at every line of that deal to see what can be done.”
While coy, Bauer and the league remain steadfast in doing everything in its power to broker the biggest main event in the league dating back to its inception in 2002.
