The seminal event marked a turning point for Hammerstone’s quest for a dream title vs. title match. Denied a crack at the World Champion by Josef Samael, Hammerstone’s only pathway to a title match against Fatu was by winning the 40-wrestler extravaganza. Now, Hammerstone can cash in his title shot any time, anywhere.
