The Opera Cup semi-finals and finals are set to go down in Atlanta, GA!

Major League Wrestling is back in Atlanta and in a big way because the Opera Cup semi-finals and finals are set to go down. Not only that, but Satoshi Kojima literally has a tall order in his way as he takes on Mads Krule Krugger in a World Title defense. No time is wasted as we get right to the Opera Cup action!

MATCH 1
2024 Opera Cup Semi-Finals
TJP vs. KENTA

KENTA deems it fine to play cat and mouse against TJP but the athletic veteran ends up catching the NJPW star and when he does, TJP makes him pay. He wrenches back hard on KENTA’s arm before later trapping him in a devastating octopus stretch. KENTA however is not against getting a cheap shot in even in a prestigious tournament and low blows TJP to set him up for a GTS and a 1-2-3.

WINNER and ADVANCING: KENTA

MATCH 2
2024 Opera Cup Semi-Finals
Bad Dude Tito vs. Mistico

Neither title is on the line in this fight as the National Openweight Champion battles the World Middleweight Champion. Tito aims to take Mistico to town with his brute strength and power. Mistico has had some early seasoning already this weekend by defeating Chris Jericho and now looks to tame the massive lion across from him in the ring. Tito is quite aggressive in this fight and jaw jacks to the crowd quite a bit, and Mistico makes him pay keeping his eye off him. A pinning combo is good enough for Mistico to get a well-earned win and he advances to the finals along with KENTA!

WINNER and ADVANCING: Mistico

Earlier in the week, BRG, Bobby Fish and The Andersons rented out a penthouse in NYC and they have plans to not only celebrate but take over all the gold in Major League Wrestling.

MATCH 3
Timothy Thatcher vs. Donovan Dijak (with MSL)

It’s Dijak’s league debut and he’s got a tough customer in Thatcher. These two battle it out big time but it’s Dijak who gets the better of this battle after hitting a spinning discus boot before nailing his devastating Disruptor finisher for the pinfall win.

WINNER: Donovan Dijak

Post-fight, MSL has open contracts for anyone who wants to challenge Dijak. Dijak reiterates his desire to disrupt and destroy anyone who wants to throw hands at him.

MATCH 4
Bomaye Fight Club (Alex Kane & Mr. Thomas) vs. The Andersons (Brock & CW Anderson)

Bobby Fish and BRG join commentary as Alex Kane shows CW and Brock why he’s a former MLW World Champion. Kane dolls out the suplexes on his foes and is fired up because of it. However, the refereee gets knocked down and The Andersons try to take advantage with help from BRG and Bobby. However, Kevin Knight comes out to even the odds. Except, there’s another ace up BRG’s sleeve – who saunters out but John Layfield!! Mr. Thomas stands to his height, but gets leveled with a shot from Layfield immediately. He then delivers a massive clothesline from hell to Thomas before whispering something to Brock Anderson. Brock covers and gets the 1-2-3!

WINNERS: The Andersons

Post fight, BRG his three friends say they’re witnessing history. BRG calls them a championship franchise in the making before CW introduces this group as The Rogue Horsemen.

Backstage, Bad Dude Tito is still fuming from his loss and tries to take his anger out on Matthew Justice, but the SGC member isn’t having it and a brawl ensues!

MATCH 5
Okumura vs. Adam Priest

Adam Priest shows his young wrestling savvy in this fight against the veteran that is Okumura, and after a hard fought battle, Okumura gets the W after a fisherman’s buster.

WINNER: Okumura

Post-fight, out comes Ikuro Kwon flanked by CONTRA soldiers. However, it’s AKIRA who comes to even the odds with a Kendo stick as he fights with Kwon!

Backstage we see Matt Riddle give Satoshi Kojima a pep talk before his World Title defense as both men begin a “bitch ass CONTRA” chant. Riddle gets a kick out of it as Kojima walks off but then is approached by Filthy Tom Lawlor who disparages Riddle’s MMA background. These two will be settling the score in just a couple weeks at Pit-Fighter. Lawlor challenges Riddle to put his World Title shot on the line, and Riddle accepts!

MATCH 6
MLW World Heavyweight Championship
Mads Krule Krugger vs. Satoshi Kojima (c)

Krugger is looking to dismantle Kojima and he does so with brute force. Kojima then proceeds to hit three massive DDTs on Krugger, but that still won’t keep the monster down! It looks all but over when Krugger grabs Kojima by the throat and hits a massive chokeslam on the champ, but Kojima’s adrenaline pops him right back up as he nails a Lariato! He goes to cover Mads, but Janai Kai makes the save!

Backstage, we see Okumura and Akira battling with Suzuki and the Sentai Death Squad. Kojima goes for a second Lariato, but Krugger blasts a fireball in the champ’s face! The ref calls for the bell!

WINNER via DQ and STILL MLW World Heavyweight Champion: Satoshi Kojima

The ref immediate administers a towel and water to the burnt face of Kojima but CONTRA looks to be far from done. A body bag is introduced and it doesn’t look good for the champ. However, Matt Riddle steps out on the ramp who hasn’t left Atlanta yet! He brawls with CONTRA on stage as Akira comes in and takes out Krugger and Kai with the Kendo stick. A CONTRA takeover has been thwarted!

MAIN EVENT
2024 Opera Cup Finals
Mistico vs. KENTA

Despite the extended time already in the ring, KENTA nor Mistico were short of breath in this battle. However, KENTA had some mind games in mind as he avoided the offense of Mistico. However, both men ultimately pull out all stops worthy of an Opera Cup finals match. KENTA tries to get a tainted win by introducing a steel chair, but Mistico makes him pay by kicking it in his face. Soon enough, Mistico locks in his La Mistica and KENTA has no option but to tap!

2024 Opera Cup WINNER: Mistico

Mistico makes history, becoming the first-ever Mexican-born wrestler to win the Opera Cup in it’s century and a half yerar old legacy! Mistico is in elated shock as he drapes the World Middleweight Title around his new cup.
